In this June 2023 report, we’ve published what we’ve found to be the top CD (certificate of deposit) rates available to residents in Wisconsin. The largest credit union in Wisconsin by member size and assets held is Connexus Credit Union, serving ~444,000 members in the state.

The FDIC insures bank deposits up to $250,000 per depositor and the NCUA insures credit union deposits up to $250,000 per depositor.

PNC Bank is not based out of Wisconsin but they have a large presence in the state with 26 branches in 17 different towns and cities. The largest concentration of PNC branches can be found in Milwaukee and Brookfield.
Associated Bank, based out of Greenbay, Wisconsin, is the largest bank in the state by assets with $41 billion. They have 145 branches within the state and you must live within their geographical footprint to open one of their CDs.
Huntington Bank has 16 branches throughout Wisconsin and U.S. Bank has 107 – giving it the largest coverage of the major banks in the state ahead of both Chase and Wells Fargo.
